For up to date public health information, go to www.cdc.gov and click on “traveler’s health” and select the county (Nepal). During non-monsoon months, mosquitoes are not common at low altitudes even in Pokhara or Chitwan because of cool nights. But it’s best to be prepared and I suggest everyone travel with repellent (Deet or Picaridin, etc.).

Download the Nepal Visa Form from: www.treks.com.np/visa/

Tourist visa is $30 for the first 60 days, available on arrival in Kathmandu. The process is simplified if you have exact change and the visa form completed on arrival at the Kathmandu airport, with three passport-size photos.

If you have your own sleeping bag rated to 32F, we suggest that you bring it. If you don’t have a bag, we’ll rent one for you but may not be able to guarantee size if a long bag is needed.
