NEPAL TREK EQUIPMENT CHECK-LIST

On the trek, porters will carry your duffel bag with up to 20 pounds of personal effects. Small inexpensive duffle bags are available in Nepal . If you prefer to use your own sleeping bag (rated down to 32F) you may and porters will carry it. Otherwise, bags will be provided for your use. Your day pack should probably not weigh more than 10 lb or what you are comfortable carrying – camera, water, jacket and other personal items.

Essential equipment for high altitude camping and lodge treks:

  1 duffel bag (provided)
  1 day pack (can buy in KTM)
  1  toilet paper (
provided)
  1  sleeping bag (
provided)
  1  sleeping pad (
provided)
  1  pair trekking boots
  1  pair camp shoes or thongs
  1  pair short pants for hiking
  1  pair long pants for camp & hiking
  3  pairs socks for trekking boots
  2  pairs socks for camp shoes
  3  T-shirts or short sleeved shirts
  1  pocket knife
  2  long sleeved shirt
  3  pairs underwear
  1  sweater (available in KTM)
  1  windproof parka or shell with hood(preferably   waterproof)
  1  hat for sun protection (available in KTM )
  1  warm hat (available in KTM)
  1  small hand towel
  1  sun cream
  1  sunglasses
  1  large plastic bag to line duffel
  1  bar of soap or tube liquid soap (available in KTM)
  1 toothbrush & toothpaste, floss
  1  quart water bottle
  4  plastic bags (packing clothes-keeping dry).
  1  flashlight with extra batteries & bulb (head-light preferable)
  4  plastic bags (organize clothes & pack lunches).
  1 
piece Moleskin for blisters
 
8  Band-Aids
     aspirin or Tylenol for headaches or other pain
     antihistamine (Actifed or Sudafed)
     Pepto Bismol (liquid or tablets)
     Throat lozenges (available KTM)
   1 Chapstick or Blistex or Labiosan
       bras
       Tampons or sanitary napkins
   1  bathing suit (hotel pool)

 

If You are Susceptible to Cold Add

  1 set long underwear
  1 wool shirt (long sleeved)
  1 pair wool mittens
  1 down-vest or sweater
  1 pair wool pants(long)
  1 pair down or Polarguard booties for camp

Extra Equipment

     Moist sealed mini paper towels

     ace Bandage
     reading material
     collapsible walking stick (provided)
     non-bifocal glasses if you wear bifocals
